Welcome to the KAPA Web Site!
KAPA serves as the official representative voice of Kansas PAs. Our mission is
to enhance the quality of medical care for the citizens of Kansas by providing
medical education to physician assistants, other health professionals, legislative
and governing bodies, and the public. We accomplish this by promoting quality,
cost-effective, and accessible health care, and by supporting the professional
and personal development of physician assistants.
Kansas PAs
The Kansas Board of Healing Arts voted unanimously on Feb. 24th to adopt the proposed regulations relating to Physician Assistants in Kansas.
The action by the Board follows the public hearing/comment period conducted in late January. There were no opponents to the proposals.
Kansas Administrative Regulation 100-28a-10 relates to supervision and will remove current chart co-signature requirements in favor of provisions which will allow physicians greater flexibility in determining how best to supervise PAs.
The approved regulations were published in the "Kansas Register" (the State's official publication) on March 15th and took effect March 30th.
