Kansas PA's

The AAPA's newsletter the "Advocate" contains a news update concerning recent activity at the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts regarding the administrative rules and regulation for Physician Assistants in the State.

The articles's headline indicates that the Board voted to amend the co-signature requirement (K.A.R. 100-28a-10) for PAs in Kansas. To clarify the Board's action, they only voted to move forward, through the rule and regulation promulgation process, a proposal to amend the co-signature requirement. No formal action on the regulation has been taken by the Board other than to begin the publication and public hearing process. Thus, no change to your current requirement for co-signature.

This regulation review process may take up to six months before a final decision is made the Board. During that review process the proposed language could be further amended.
