MyCME: On-line CME Courses

Healthy Habits for Kansas Kids
Online Childhood Obesity Education Pilot Program

The Kansas Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics (KAAP) is looking for healthcare providers (MD, DO, PA, NP, NPN, RN, LPN, RD) to pilot and provide feedback for their childhood obesity online continuing education program and supporting materials. There are 4, 1 hour modules on the KS-TRAIN website of KDHE. The modules reflect the 2007 Expert Committee Recommendations on the Assessment, Prevention and Treatment of Child and Adolescent Overweight and Obesity released by the AMA. In exchange for their feedback, piloting providers will receive Free CME or CEU nursing credits, a Best Practices guide, a pediatric BMI wheel, and a CD of provider, patient and youth resources that can be used for duplication.

This program is not yet approved for CME credit. Conference organizers plan to request 16-17 hours of AAPA Category I CME credit from the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Total number of approved credits yet to be determined. Physician assistants should claim only those hours actually spent participating in the CME activity. This program is planned in accordance with the AAPA's CME Standards for Lecture-Learner Programs and for Commercial Support of Lecture-Learn Programs.
